PARIS “In the morning is beautiful. In the afternoon is charming. In the evening is enchanting. After midnight is magic. Gil (Owen Wilson), screenwriter with ambitions as a writer, and his almost wife Inez (Rachel McAdams) are on holiday in Paris with her pedantic parents. Always keen of the Ville Lumiere, Gil will be catapulted in the ’20s at midnight and he will see his literary and artistic idols (Ernest Hemingway, Salvador Dali, Scott Fitzgerald, Pablo Picasso) in the streets and pubs. The parallel universe will happen again and every night will be different, always more magical, and it will shake all the convictions and certainties of the dreamy Gil. The opening scene of this movie (2011), the images of the city and the background music, reminds inevitably the beginning of “Manhattan” (1979). Moreover, the signature of the director is the same: Woody Allen.
