Benidorm and its “Candy Beach”

BENIDORM, summertime

Benidorm - Candy Beach by Bambi - 001

“Best beach in the world!” – Bambi says.

Maybe it’s a slightly exaggerated statement but for sure there is no other beach with such an extraordinarily sincere and happy photo series like this one by Bambi and titled “Candy Beach”. We love these pastel photos and here we share some of them in a gallery.

BENIDORM is a city in the province of Alicante, in eastern Spain, on the Mediterranean coast. It has been a tourist destination within Spain since 1925, when its port was extended and the first hotels were built. However, the real “boom” of Benidorm as a coastal resort did not happen until the 1950s, when it became a famous summer destination for people coming from inland Spain, especially Madrid. Today it is known for its hotel industry, beaches and skyscrapers and receives as many or even slightly more foreign tourists as Spanish ones.

BAMBI is a street photographer based in Madrid. She loves capturing people of everyday life and the way light transforms the city. She finds beauty in colours and with pastel tones she always creates a dreamlike atmosphere.
