Saints and Muses in bars and buses of Naples

Alexey Kondakov

NAPOLI Do you remember “The Daily Life of Gods” project by the Ukrainian creative Alexey Kondakov we talked about a year ago? Well, after the successful first series set in his hometown Kiev, he was invited to Naples by the cultural association Show Desk for the Artist in residence 2016 program. The result of his stay in this Italian city was a new series of 16 wonderful images created again mixing street photography with digital collage, by a meticulous work on lights and shadows. After his solo exhibition in Naples, this new series started to travel around the world wide web like the first one.

Alexey Kondakov decontextualizes characters from Renaissance masterpieces and give them a new life in our contemporary cities, choosing simple urban sets and ordinary street scenes. So, this time you’ll see Saints and Muses sitting in a bar or bus of Naples, eating ice-cream or taking the sun in front of the sea.

We love this project, another good example of how creativity and (web) storytelling can tell to the world – and so to promote – a territory. See the gallery!
