* What do they have on face? It’s called Thanaka and it’s a white-yellowish cosmetic cream obtained by mixing the powder from the bark of certain trees to water. Almost all women, and occasionally even men, use it to protect themselves from the sun and have a lighter skin that is synonymous with beauty. To children, it’s often applied on face, shoulders and arms; sometimes, even creating drawings and symbols.
