Anna Olsson: cuts and brush strokes

CCTeam

STOCKHOLM After the discovery of the art of @cintascotch, we came across – always on Instagram – another creative profile, this time female, @mor__anna. And so let’s fly from Ecuador to Sweden to meet Anna Olsson, illustrator and designer with a simple but elegant style.

Anna Olsson has a master degree from Konstfack, University Collage of Arts, Crafts and Design in Stockholm. The Swedish artist shares on Instagram her work in progress to receive an instant feedback and understand how to further shape her art. In addition to her creative compositions, she likes to capture creative inspirations such as nature, traditional crafts and geometric shapes. Anna fuses these elements together and transforms them into beautifully handcrafted artwork made out of colored papers, often painted with watercolor or acrylics. “I use a paper cut technique that inspires and encourages me to reduce and simplify the motifs,” says Anna.I want my artwork to have a handmade expression, scissor-cut edges and brush strokes.”

Here we show you some of her “sketches”… and if you like them, follow her on Instagram!
