I am an Itailian girl currently living in the UK. I have been working as an aupair in Buckinghamshire for the past six months, but I am about to start a new job in Surrey in a few weeks. Last July I graduated in Modern languages and literature (English, German and French) at the University of Pisa.
I started travelling when I was very young with my family and my first solo trip was when I was sixteen and I went to the US. Visiting new places is a big passion of mine - at the moment the UK is my favourite place to explore. However, recently I visited the Netherlands. For me travelling, regardless of the destination, is an enriching experience on two main levels. On the exterior level, visiting exotic places, meeting new people, trying food to which we are unaccostumed and experiencing a foreign life style broadens our cultural backgound, giving us a different perspective on the world. On the internal level, the separation from home and the experience of otherness trigger a process of self-growth and self-discovery which contributes to the forging of our own identity.
Through my writing I would like to encourage other people to get out of their comfort zone and explore the world.
