PALERMO Our stay in Palermo as #CCTravellers2018 was special also thanks to this welcoming place at Garibaldi Theatre, headquarters of MANIFESTA 12 – The European Biennial of Contemporary Art. I’m talking about the Caffè Letterario Garibaldi which offers cold and hot drinks, food and snacks, in addition to a beautiful view on Piazza Magione. Even more, the café works as meeting point and social hub along with a pop-up library for adults and kids.
We genuinely received five star treatment from the staff here. On top of the invaluable service we had out own personal sommelier – Steve! – who served us some of the finest wine, organic and biodynamic, I have ever had the pleasure of sampling. He also kindly lent his ear while we asked question after question about how his developed his strong and acute knowledge in wine as well as his insatiable smile. 🙂
Tip! Go there for a very special Happy Hour to taste the best local wine together with some local “tapas” like, for example, some sfincione! This Sicilian “pizza” is one of the symbols of the local street food culture and here is made with love by Buatta Cucina Popolana, one of the best restaurant in town – just a few minutes walk from Teatro Garibaldi (in Via Vittorio Emanuele, 176 – in case you are still hungry and want to go later for dinner)!
