Miniature Calendar: a world where beer foam is snow and broccoli are trees

It has cold beer

KAGOSHIMA Since 2011, Tatsuya Tanaka – art director and miniature photographer from Kagoshima, Japan – has been creating playful miniature dioramas, every single day: small figures and repurposed objects that make the ordinary into the extraordinary, sometimes with a touch of romanticism and at others of irony. Even if you remember which date is today, check out this Miniature Calendar. It will make you smile! 🙂

“Everyone must have had similar thoughts at least once. – Tatsuya tells. – Broccoli and parsley might look like a forest, or the tree leaves floating on the surface of the water might look like little boats. Everyday life seen from a different perspective can make us fantasize in a funny way. I wanted to express this through photographs, so I started to put them together in a “MINIATURE CALENDAR” . These photos primarily depict diorama-style figures surrounded by daily necessaries. And just like a standard calendar, everyday there is a new photo on the website. Enjoy!”

Below our selection from the calendar of this 2015 that is almost past. There is also a mini Colosseum made of sponge cake (or something similar)… And who knows what Tatsuya is already imagining for the next year!
