32LDN #3 video: E. Pellicci

CCTeam presents 32LDN

LONDON An interview with Nevio Pellicci, the grandson of the Italian founders of E. Pellicci, historic cafe & restaurant in Bethnal Green. Opened in 1900, and still in the hands of the same family, Pellicci’s is an east London landmark. In the kitchen, since 1961, there is Mama Maria while in the hall her kids, Anna and Nevio, that always serve with smiles and jokes. The menù is Italian-Cockney, simple but tasty dishes (authentic English Breakfast and Brunch!) and honest prices. But the main ingredient is the vibrant welcome that makes this place, with an art-decò touch, so special.

Nevio Pellicci tells the story of his picturesque “caff” and some curiosities [for example, the Kray twins (and criminals) are said to have dropped for their breakfast every morning]; but the images make already understand this is a place where the atmosphere is especially made by its people, by the local community and by the clients that here feel like home.
