CCT is a future12 *

Elena M. Wagner

[PRATO, Monday 5th March 2012, 9:50 pm – I’ve just finished dinner at home. I’m sitting on the couch next to my grandfather who’s watching TV while I’m staring my iPhone: I’m waiting for the “future12” selection that has to be published by today, so I’m on the International Journalism Festival‘s Twitter account. Here the tweet. I open the link. CCT-SeeCity is the first word that I see. I shout. I jump to my feet. I cry and laugh like crazy. My grandfather looks at me asking what happened. My dad, who was falling asleep on the chair, suddenly wakes up. My mum understands why I’m like this and she laughs seeing me lying face down on the pavement. I get up, pick up the phone and start the round of calls to all the CCTzens… I’m out of breath and I’m happy, I can’t stop smiling. Now it’s 4 am and I still can’t sleep. I give up, this time I’ll dream with open eyes. I’m madly in love with you, CCT. Forever yours, @ElenaCCT]

BEAUTIFUL THINGS ARE TO BE SAID. On 5th March 2012, CCT has received a wonderful news: it’s one of the 12 web journalism projects selected for the international competition “future12” – an idea by Luca Conti and Johanna Vehkoo, promoted by the International Journalism Festival (the leading media event in Italy, founded in 2006 by Arianna Ciccone and Christopher Potter). CCT is therefore invited to attend along with the other selected projects – see them here – and show itself to the festival audience. A jury will choose the winner and any others worthy of special mention. Being there is the greatest honor! Thanks from the heart!!!

CCT @ PERUGIA on the 29th April 2012! The “future12” presentations event will take place in Perugia on Sunday 29th April 2012 from 09.00 to 13.00 in the Sala Raffaello of the Hotel Brufani, during the International Journalism Festival (25-29 April 2012). The event is open to the public and all are more than welcome… so we look forward to see you there!

THANKS to “future12” and the International Journalism Festival for the great, amazing, wonderful, huge and fantastic opportunity!! And thanks to all the CCTzens or “Seetizens” which are always more! CCT is a work in progress project and the young CCTeam is constantly larger and wider. And it will be always like this, because the goal of CCT is to talk about all the cities of the world through a glocal (global + local) network of people who share a particular (also travel) philosophy and so the editorial line. If you haven’t done it yet, please take a ride in the ABOUT section of the site (at top left in the menù) to know more about this vagabond and daydreamer of this small big World!
